Congratulations! You have successfully created a walk cycle using motion tweens in Flash. And... you are probably incredibly familiar with limbs moving in crazy patterns and completing 360 degree turns as you struggled to keep everything looking natural.
Now we'll work with the bone tool, which helps to keep everything in place. For our first assignment, create a bunch of shapes (15 or more) and link them together using the bone tool. Then move your figure around on the screen to get a feel for how the bone tool links things together, what your limitations are, etc. To get full points, make your shapes into something (ie. an animal tail, a caterpillar, a snake, etc). If you're doing an animal tail, I recommend importing an animal body from the internet and adding your tail to the body. Add a background, use parallax.

Create your shapes on separate layers. Then, make each shape into a symbol by pressing F8 or by dragging your shape into the "Library" panel. Finally, use the bone tool to link the shapes.
This first assignment is due at the end of class today: Thursday, May 14.
